Hello I'm searching for my Philips FB825 built in 1990 for 2
replacement-ribbon for a Philips E-RT8-E (AD21601). Alternatively 2
Chassis E-RT8-E or better E-RT8-P. Since 2 weeks i'm searching without
success. What i've found today are 2 AD21600. On your webpage i've found
a datasheet about this speaker, but it's not really readable. Do you
have a better plot? Do you have any hints to get the original ribbons or
speaker?

thanks in advance and best regards

Rainer

In the FB825 is not the ADS21601E I think it is the newer version from old AD21600/21601

The AD21600 you can take apart by ticking the 2 horn plates from the front. The you see 4 screws. FIRST get the cap behind from the magnet, that is glued but can be forced off with a screwdriver (tilt it)

Put the back of the magnet on the table and unsccrew the 4 screws. Then, very careful lift the frontplate at the opposite side of the contacts!

Now you can take the ribbon out. You will have to desolder the thin lead wires from the contacts side, quickly. It is low-melting SnPb

The ribbon from teh FB825 has 4 small caps covering the screws in the frontplate. Unmount it exactly the same way. Then put the ribbon from 21600 in the FB825 tweeter, and be aware that the cotton stays in place.
Solder the 2 wires, again quickly!

A good ribbon must measure about 7 ohm DC.
